Listmembers, in Sampson County 1787, William HAIR obtained a Court judgement against Willis WEST. To satisfy this judgement, Willis' 200A were sold by the Sheriff to the highest bidder, Bartram (Bartholomew) GAYNEY (sic). I am interested in learning: 1. whether Bartholomew returned the lands to Willis by either gift or sale? 2. what was the cause of William HAIR's judgement against Willis? 3. was this Bartholomew the father of Willis's wife, Sarah GAINEY/GAYNEY? Thanks for any help/suggestions. Fran powell@closecall.com
