For those who are researching the Rainey name, I found this in the Archives. This land was in Duplin Co. NC. ca. 1790-91 Scope / Contents: John Rainey, the son and heir to the possessions of the late Robert Rainey, petitions the General Assembly because land that is rightly his has been confiscated by the state and sold. He asks that he receive reimbursement for his property.
