Good Morning, I ran into some questions I thought maybe someone could help with. Remember the papers that I forward that Potts had done on DAVID Rainer of Sampson Co. NC., I'm wondering if he was not RIGHT. He had Amy's birth date much earlier, and David's birth date plus he was married twice. Now the question I ran into but cannot answer them with what answers we have. 1. David's death date:::: On AUG. Term of 1820 AMY applied for 1 year provision of land and material things. 2. OCT./ NOV. term of 1820 DAVID Raynor sold to JOHN Raynor for 208 acres proved by Kedar Smith. 3. OCT./NOV. 1820 DAVID Raynor to JAMES J. Raynor for 200 acres proved by Issac Strickland. 4. NOV. 20 1820 Raynor estate and Inventory and account of sales property of DAVID Raynor. 5. May 1828 Report of committee on the estate of David Raynor, decd was returned. Question:::: If our David died before Aug. 1820, he COULD NOT have sold the land to John and James J. Raynor. Betty your William would have been to young, so then would the son William be William David or are we looking at two David's. David who married Amy and another David. Question:: Remember that Amy Raynor wrote her will 1 Aug. 1833 and probated Feb. court 1834. 1. JAN./ Feb Term 1828 Raynor Guardian Ordered Samuel Raynor be guardian of MATTHEW and RICHARD Raynor Bond was $1000.00 Securities were Moore Thornton and Reddick Lee. 2. JAN. /Feb. term 1828 Raynor accounts Order John King, Archibald Monk and Moses Cox be appointed to settle the accounts of AMY RAYNOR late guardian of Matthew and Richard Raynor. 3. In the 1830 census AMY RAYNOR was listed as head of house. So how could this be the same AMY, it could not, there was two AMY's. Minute Docket to AUG. Tem 1837 Sampson Co. No. 32 State vs. Samuel Rainer, Matthew Rainer JR. and Whitfield Thornton. Pease Warrent The defendants solemnly called be failed to answer-An motion judgment of Vis against Samuel Rainer for $100 and MATTHEW Rainer and Whitfield Thornton each for the sum of $50. Notice that Matthew Rainer was a JR., the Matthew of David and Amy was not old another to have a JR. that old. This is just a few of the things that does not match what we all have listed in our records. I went to the Archives yesterday and got Amy's estate papers, there were four pages. Joab, Matthew and Samuel all had notes that were due to Amy's estates. The accounts of estate of things sold listed a few of these names, Joab Rainer bought 2 items, Richard Rainer bought 10 items, Matthew Rainer bought 10 items, Green Hill bought 1, Green Hill 1, B. G. Thornton 1, Wm Rainer bought 3, Sion Hill 2, Wm Cox Ser. 1, James Rainer 1, Benj. I Thornton, 1, Samuel Rainer 1, Jno Eldridge 1, and Whitfield Thornton 1. I think I'm going to the Archives in the morning, does anyone have any ideas to check for more info., I know I'm going to check David's estate records. Thanks, Donna
