    3. Annah Celestia Peterson, my husband's great grandmother (I have a photo of both Annah and William E. Bass.) was the daughter of Catherine "Kate" Vann (daughter of Enoch Vann and Rebecca Tatum) and her father was Stephen Peterson, Jr. (son of Elisha Peterson, Sr. and Elizabeth Chesnutt). So, we know that Sarah Chesnutt was not the mother of Annah. (I am lucky enough to have a photo of Stephen Peterson, Jr., also). Thanks for the thought, however. I don't have access to a marriage record or book for Sampson County. I don't think it is posted online either. Whenever I get to Sampson County, I plan to search the marriage records.
