    1. [NCSAMPSO] question on Rev War service - lists vs pay vouchers
    2. I just went to the NC archives today and copied several pages from the Rev War Army Account microfilm. These are lists of men and usually have a pay frequency code in the right hand columns. I did not see a reference in the archives catalog to a pay voucher slip related to specific indivuals on these lists that I was searching for. I know sometimes there is a pay voucher card with information on the payment and a hole stamped through it showing that it was paid. If a soldier is listed on the army account list, is there always a pay voucher associated that can found in the microfilm? The assistant there did not fully understand what I was asking. Jason

    2. Betty Wiggins
    3. Jason, I have a few Robinsons in my Sampson County database on my Wiggins family. The earliest I have is William L. Robinson, born 1808, who married Janetta _____. They had 9 children: Mary, Lenon, William Edwin, Ferdanand, Virginia Jane, Octavia, Burrus, Victoria and Janetta. I did a quick check of Ancestry.com World Tree, and this family is listed there as William L. Robinson, born 1808 in Monongalia, WV. World Tree says he died in WV, but the 1870 census mortality record say he died April 1870 in Sampson County. The World Tree says his father was William and his grandfather was William--no co/state shown. Don't know if this helps, but here is what I have on William L. Robinson of Sampson Co, NC: Betty 1850 Census, Southern District, Sampson Co, NC: Will L. ( have seen it both ways) Charity who married Lewis McCallop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jackie Purdy, California

The Old Bluff Presbyterian Church that is on the banks of the Cape Fear River has a monument of all the Scottish ministers dating way back into the 1700s.
