There is a Piney Grove Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church about 2 miles east of Beulaville, NC on old Hwy 24 that runs off of Penny road. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2008 11:15 AM Subject: [NCSAMPSO] Piney Grove Church > Can anyone tell me where Piney Grove Penecosal Freewill Church is located, > I > was told it was in Johnston Co around Four Oaks but need directions. > Thanks, > Donna > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Jason, I have the books but I am on vacation now and will not be home until the first week of June. If you send me the name I will look it up when I get home. Margie
Sampson County Court Minutes, 1784-1800 compiled and edited by Oscar M. & Virginia L. Bizzell. Does anyone on the list have a copy of this book and could you do a lookup for me? Thanks. I'm looking for William, Jesse, Joel, Joshua, or Jacob Johnston. Also for William Robinson. Jason
Can anyone tell me where Piney Grove Penecosal Freewill Church is located, I was told it was in Johnston Co around Four Oaks but need directions. Thanks, Donna
Mary Frances, You're in luck. I haven't been yet. Please send me your direct email. I feel sure the entire list-serv doesn't care about getting a copy of a deed. Bonnie, Keep in mind that the Peterson abstract books only cover the first 12 deed books. In those, I found nothing relating to Wilson Tate Baggett or Silas E. Baggett. I did find references to Abraham Baggett (Grantor), Elizabeth Baggett (Grantor), and Matha/Matthew/Martha Baggett (Grantee). How much do you already know about Silas E. Baggett? A Silas Baggett was the father-in-law of one of my Honeycutt folks -- not sure about the middle initial. If they are the same person, I have some information on him because his mother was a Naylor. One source on Naylors that I have references the division of Silas' father's estate. It may have been through a deed because I didn't find any Baggetts in the will abstract book, but it lists the children of Josiah and Janett Naylor Baggett. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I am looking at Google Earth with roads selected and brought up Newton Grove, NC. I can see that NC 55 is the Mount Olive Highway which is the highway spoke on the east-southeast side of the traffic circle in Newton Grove. Google Earth shows all the intersecting roads and their names. http://earth.google.com/ You could also try Google Maps http://maps.google.com/ I did not see a county road 1 or I. Even better, search in the NC cemeteries for the name you are looking for and perhaps you can get a better location that can help you pinpoint where the cemetery is. http://www.obitcentral.com/cemsearch/nc-cem.htm http://www.obitcentral.com/cemsearch/nc-cem.htm -------------- Original message from [email protected]: -------------- > I'm looking for a Thornton Cem. just off Hwy 55 on a county road 1 or I, I > understand they stop the letter road and when to address for 911 calls. Mary Frances, I may be able to help you. I have Max Peterson's set of deed abstract books that cover the first 12 Sampson County deed books. I found one deed for your Samuel Boon. Hi all, sorry about that last e-mail. I am researching Alexander WILSON, b. 1791 in NC. Here is what I have on him. In the 1820 Sampson CO NC census record, there is a David WILSON and James WILSON located in Cap. Matthis District. Alexander would have been 29, but he is not listed with them. In 1830, Alexander is listed in Sampson CO NC living next to James WILSON. James and Alexander seem to be in the same age group, brothers maybe? In 1840 Alexander is still in Sampson CO and by 1850 has moved to Lowndes CO GA. Does anyone know if Alexander was married before he married Nancy MORGAN? Nancy was the daughter of Reuben MORGAN and Dorcas NEWTON. Their children are listed in the 1850 Lowndes CO GA census record, and their oldest is listed as Dorcas WILSON age 18, making her birth year 1832, so she would have been born in Sampson CO NC. Does anyone know where Rebecca Fail lived at around Bentonville in Johnston Co., NC. She never married according to the census, but there is a Raynor cem. on the land she was living on. Can anyone help. She was born around 1835 and don't know when she died. In the 1880 census she was living between Black Barfield and William Basil, in the 1870 census she was living with Raiford Hagress in Bentonville Township. I think the area would be somewhere around Cox's mill. Thanks, Donna
