The Thornton line is pretty far removed from my main line. I have several male Wigginses who have done the Sorensen DNA. Last time I checked it was due to be added to their database this summer. James Blair is now a junior high school. My daughter went there. Hi Diane! You are quick! In looking at the site I see that I made a mistake - James Vann married Mary Tatum not Sookie. I should not have relied on a poor memory. Hope you can get this corrected. Hi, Gail, My connection with the Thorntons is Freddie T. Thornton who married Mary Elizabeth Wiggins. Freddie was the son of William Foster Thornton and Octavia Andrews. William Foster Thornton was the son of John Thomas Thornton and Elizabeth "Betsy" Lee (I think). Mary Elizabeth Wiggins was the daughter of Thomas Jay Lathan Wiggins and Ammie Elizabeth Andrews (Anders). T. J. Lathan Wiggins was the son of John "Jack" Wiggins (1790 - 1868) and Kitty Williams (1823 - 1899). All of Sampson County, NC. Williamsburg is a great place to live. Diane, I am searching for any info on my husband's ancestors. All we have are family stories that have been passed down over the generations. Davie or David Cobb born 1799, married in 1830 Elizabeth Wilson born 1812. They were supposed to be from Faison, Duplin Co., NC, but with Faison being relatively close to the county line with Sampson Co. I thought it might be a good thing to check out Sampson Co. as well. Children: William W. Cobb... 1836- unknown Susan J. Cobb... 1838- 1885 Polly Ann Cobb... 1844- unknown David Allen Cobb... 1846- 1917 Zachariah Cobb... 1850- unknown Johnny W. Cobb... 1853- unknown Thank you, Laura Cobb SW Arkansas [email protected] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike & Diane" <[email protected]> To: "Sampson County" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, July 02, 2008 4:12 PM Subject: [NCSAMPSO] Surnames > Hi all, > > I am going to archive all of the surnames on the site since they haven't > been added to in a few years.
