Can anyone tell me if this Church is in Harnett Co or Sampson Co., it is not listed in the Sampson Co Books nor on the Harnett Cem. records site. Thanks, Donna
Donna, I have posted these pages: http://www.ncgenweb.us/ncrevwar/kingsmountainmen/rosters.htm If you want to transcribe the info from the book that gives additional information I will gladly post it to the site as well. To all, If you haven't already you might want to visit the NC in the Revolutionary War site: http://www.ncgenweb.us/ncrevwar/ You just might find some very useful information for your research! Also the Military site: http://www.ncgenweb.us/ncmil/ has links to all of the Military sites I have online to date. There are separate sites for a number of wars and you might find some info in those as well. Also as always, please consider sending in some info to add to these or any of the other sites to honor your ancestors and it might lead to someone contacting you with more information! Thanks Donna, for transcribing them for the site! Mary, Thanks for letting us know the Sampson County Library has the cemetery books I live 4 hours from there and would much rather have the directions to any cemeteries I will be visiting planned out in advance. That way I am able to visit more cemeteries in a shorter amount of time. I usually try to start on one end of a county and work my way across and that will save me a lot of backtracking from going to Clinton to the library and finding the ones I want to do and then going back to get them. Especially since I am not that familiar with Sampson County and I have no clue which ones are close to each other, etc. : ) It also gives me time in case I run across more in looking for the ones on my list and I am not running all over looking for the ones I pulled from the book. It also helps others that might be planning a quick trip to Sampson to be able to locate any cemeteries they might want to visit without having to worry about doing so when the library is open, researching where the cemetery is then going out to find it. I am sure you understand my reasoning of wanting to put the locations up online. This also gives us a chance to find some that aren't listed in any of the books, so they can be located and photographed as well. We have had a lot of luck in Duplin County doing this and people have really stepped forward and we have been able to find and photograph or record cemeteries that have never before been published in any books. I am hoping to be able to do this with Sampson as well. Thanks!
