    3. Listmembers, John KNOLS/KNOWLES wrote his will in Duplin Co., 1802 and died, presumably still in Duplin, 1804. Does anyone researching the KNOLS/KNOWLES families of early Duplin know the location of John KNOLS' lands in 1802-1804? On/near which body of water did he live? (2) John KNOLS' wife was Frankey. Can anyone provide me with Frankey's maiden name? (3) David CARLTON/CARLETON was executor of the estate of John KNOLS. What was the relationship of David to John? Was there a family/business connection? (4) Elizabeth KNOLS received a bequest from John KNOLS. When was Elizabeth born? Who did Elizabeth marry? Many thanks for any assistance/clues/sources. fran fpowellsr@starpower.net

    2. Fred, Sr.
    3. Listmembers, this post was sent to me a few days ago. Thelma asked me to post the query to the list. Please respond directly to the list or to Thelma whose address is below. Thanks. Fran fpowellsr@starpower.net _____________________________________________________________ Hi Fred, Sr. I am seeking information on Samuel Boone, my gr. gr. grandfather of Sampson, Co.NC. Would like to know if anyone can help me. I need his death date, where buried, his parents and possibly his siblings. I know he married Margaret Vann, dau. of Enoch Vann & Rebecca Tatum of Taylor Bridge Twnship or Libson Township. In 1850 Samuel Boone & w. Margaret are in South Clinton Twnship with 6 children. His son William Ralph Boone is my gr. grandfather. I know where he is buried and his dates. But stuck on Samuel. Was Samuel related to Stephen, Driver and Chestnut Boone? I grew up in North Clinton Township between Clinton & Turkey, NC. I still have a home and farm there and will returning there in a couple of weeks for a Boone Family Reunion. The boundary of Turkey has not really changed since the 1835 Tax listing. Would you please add this information to the "Roll Call" or "Roll List"? Also looking for information on John W. Waters of the Turkey area. He is also my gr. gr. grandfather. He died around 1907. Looking for his place of burial. I have his will. John W. Waters had sons named John Waters and James David Waters. Thanks everyone for any help you can offer. Thelma P. Blackburn TPBGEN@aol.com Thelma P. Blackburn ==== NCSAMPSO Mailing List ==== This NCSAMPSO list is currently available for adoption! 3. I would also be interested in SIKES. It is believed that this John STEVENS's spouse was surnamed SIKES, but to date we have no given name. Joshua could be her brother, or maybe even father(?). The Fleet COOPER who witnessed the will is of my line as well, There were two COOPERs who married STEVENS females, daughters of the John STEVENS shown first in the listed heirs in the will abstract. 1. 1835 tax list
    2. Fred, Sr.
    3. Listmembers, a listmember has asked me privately to post any CARROL, CAREL, CARAL, and other variant spellings, to the list. As I have explained privately, I have no knowledge of the meaning of numerals following some of the listings, as there are no columnar headings on this list. Under a general listing of Property 1835 [no district cited]: John CARROLL Turkey District Joseph CARROLL, Esq. 7 54 I would like to add that all researchers probably know that after locating the ancestor on the census, it is very useful to next obtain and use any extant tax listings of the area of interest. In addition to describing the land and personal property holdings of our ancestors, some of the tax listings are listings of actual neighborhoods. Of course, this does not apply when the lists have been alphabetized. Happy Hunting. Fran fpowellsr@starpower.net
