    1. THOMAS researchers
    2. Fred, Sr.
    3. Listmembers, I have record of a Burke Co., GA marriage between Jonathan THOMAS and Jane WOOD, 1801. I have Burke Co., GA record of newspaper ad announcing estate administration for Jane THOMAS. Administrator of her estate was John THOMAS and the date of administration was 18 April 1800. In Mitchell County, GA about 1860, there is record Jonathan THOMAS witnessed a deed for William WEST. William WEST married in Bladen Co., August 1814, Anna Jane THOMAS. William and Anna Jane left Bladen Co. and were in Burke Co., GA in time to be enumerated on the census of 1820. I am hoping to prove/disprove a connection between Anna Jane Thomas WEST, Jonathan THOMAS and Jane THOMAS. I would like to correspond with anyone having information on any of these families. Thanks for any clues/sources for further research. fran fpowellsr@starpower.net

    3. Hi Fran, Although I am not researching your Frederick Rivenbark, the Rivenbark surname is one spelling variation of my line, which is Rivenburgh/Rifenburg/Reiffenberger, etc. You may or may not be aware of it, but there is a fairly large number of Rivenbark families in the Atkinson, Pender County area. 1. STEVENS / STEPHENS Brickwall
    2. Gary W Cooper
    3. Can anyone help with this brickwall? Drusellah STEVENS/STEPHENS was born April 17, 1791. (married a COOPER ca. 1809) Her name is spelled as first shown here in the STEVENS/THAMES Family Bible record. Her father's will (John STEVENS) records her as Drewsiller COOPER, and I have also seen the spelling Drewsiller. I assume the correct spelling is Drusilla or Drucilla. Her family was in Sampson County, NC most of the time, but may also have been in Duplin or Cumberland Counties, NC. She had a sister named Zilpha that married Daniel COOPER, a grandson of Fleet COOPER, Sr. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Gary garluke@juno.com Gary W. & Christie J. 2. Lura
    3. Gary, About half of Duplin County became Sampson County in 1784, so your Stephens family might have been named in both counties without moving. My ggggrandfather Alexander Carrell lived very near the line between the two counties, and I once copied from the 1790 census the names of the heads of household shown on the same page as Alexander. Living beside Alexander was - as well as I could read it - a Coor Cooper, and beside him a Daniel Coor. Coopers listed in the 1784 tax evaluation for Sampson County that I copied from the "Heritage Book" are: Coor Cooper Fleet Cooper John Cooper William Cooper Hope this gives you some possible families to search into.
