    3. DEATHS Cliffside, Feb. 25.- S.D. JONES, 77, retired merchant and farmer, died at his home in the Duke Power Company village following an extended illness. A native of Cleveland Co., he was a member of the Prospect Bapt. church. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Floyd Mortuary of Sptbg., in charge. MR. JONES is survived by his wife, MRS. ELLA RUPPE JONES; 3 daughters, MISS OCIE , at home, MRS. WILLIAM HARRIS, Sandy Mush, and MISS GRACE JONES of Johnson City, Tenn.; 5 sons, THERON and ALAMARINE JONES of Rutherford County, NEWTON JONES of Chesnee, CLARENCE JONES at home and SHERMAN JONES of Cliffside. He is survived by his step-mother, MRS. SALLIE JONES ,Gaffney; 5 half-sisters, MRS. BERTIE DAVIS, MRS. ANNIE JOLLEY, MRS. FLORA CRAWFORD and MRS. ELSIE HARRIS, Gaffney and MRS. DELLA HARRIS, of Cliffside; 4 half-brothers, FOREST JONES, Cliffside, JOHN JONES , Norfolk, Va., and CLYDE and B. O. JONES , of Gaffney. ----- June 4.- CHARLES HUBERT SWEETEN, 59 of Belmont, N.C. died unexpectedly at his home at Belmont. He was a former employee of the Limestone Manufacturing Company here and had been a law enforcement officer in Gaston County for several years. Funeral services and interment were held at Belmont. Survived by his wife, MRS. PEARLIE SWEETEN; a daughter, MISS ESTER SWEETEN; 2 sons, A.C. SWEETEN , Belmont and CARL LEE SWEETEN of Charlotte; 3 sisters, MRS. BEULAH JUSTICE and MRS.BILLY TUCKER, Gaffney and MRS. EFFIE LOLLIS , Newport, Tenn; and 3 brothers, MORRIS and CECIL SWEETEN, Gaffney and JAMES SWEETEN, Spartanburg. ----- Free Post- nancie
