This is belated, from the Dallas Morning News, Dallas, TX. Helen was a Past President of the Dallas County Genealogical Society and wrote several books on the area of Rutherford County, NC. She was a wonderful person and will be missed. I first met her in the genealogy section of the Dallas Public Library in the early 1980s. We got to talking and I said ,"I have 6 weeks, I am going to look up my family history." Little did I know. Helen almost laughed out loud but went on to help me in many ways and times.
