Funeral services were held at the residence of his mother, MRS. A.L. THOMASSON, in Charlotte. Interment in Elmwood cemetery , Charlotte. Survivng are his widow, 2 children, 2 sisters of Charlotte, his mother; 2 brothers, L.J. THOMASSON of Spindale and J.J. of Charlotte. ----- 1955- MRS. MINNIE SMITH Columbus, N.C. Nov. 16.- MRS. MINNIE LEE CHAMPION SMITH, 67 died at her home here after a long illness. MRS. SMITH was a member of Midway Bapt. church and was born in Rutherford County. She was the d/o the MR. and MRS. W.C. CHAMPION of White Oak Township in Polk County. Surviving; her husband, JAMES L. SMITH of Columbus, 5 sons, CLARENCE, PAUL and HORACE SMITH of Tryon, RALPH of Sptbg., and CECIL SMITH of Columbus; 3 daughters, MRS. P.C. LANCASTER and MRS. STANLEY GREEN of Landrum, and MRS. HARVEY GOSNELL of Columbus; 2 brothers, GEORGE CHAMPION , Tryon and JOE CHAMPION of Detroit, Mich.; 2 sisters, MRS. A.P. WILLIAMS ,Tryon and MRS. J.L. McFarland Funeral home in charge. ----- 1955- JIMMY M. RUFF Mill Springs, Nov.27.- JIMMY M. RUFF, 63 died at his home following a brief illness. A native of Polk County, he was a farmer in the Cooper's Gap section. Funeral services will be held at Cooper's Gap Bapt. church, burial in church cemetery. Surviving are; his wife, MRS. NANCY SPICER RUFF; 5 sons, RAYMOND and REGINALD RUFF of the home; ROY , Mill Spring and RALPH and ROLAND RUFF of Youngstown, Ohio; 6 daughters, MRS. AIRLEE SIMS, MRS. EARLINE JACKSON and MRS.
