Kit, I just looked at Ancestry's listing of schedules for the Rutherford Co. 1850 Federal census. They listed the following: Fox Squirel District, High Shoal District, Polk District, Rutherfordton, Slave Schedules and Whitesides Settlement. I haven't done any work with these at all, however, since my ancestors had left NC nearly 50 years earlier to head south and west.
