Hi Bill, I came across some records about John Ashworth marring Nancy Anne Wood in Tryon -Old Town NC in about 1763. Another was in Mecklenburg - Old Town NC same time. Any idea where this was found and where this Old Town was then? Joe McDonald ----- Original Message ----- From: "W. D. I have made photos of about a thousand of the marriage licenses and I have placed an index on my webpage at the following URL: > http://www.rfci.net/wdfloyd/rclicdex.html Since this is kind of labor intensive work and I am kind of on the lazy side I would appreciate it if everyone would take a look and see if this could be useful. If I had realized that this was basically the same people that were in the Registers I would have went this way first. There will be several thousand of these and will take quite a bit of time to complete. The licenses has most of the parents listed just as the do today. They are copies and many will need to be enhanced to read all the info. I have not enhanced any at all. Take a look and maybe ask me to send you one to look at and then let me know what you think about the project. I need your input.
