I give to my wife Nelly Jones my mill with 61 acres of land adjoining, with one third part of my stock & one third part of my household furniture during her natural life or widowhood, then to become the property of my son Daniel Jones. I give to my son William Jones that tract of land known by the name of the Barnett Place also one third part of the of my [sic] stock & one third part of the household furniture. I give to my son Thomas Jones 100 acres of land adjoining the Mill place on which he now lives, also one third part of the stock and household furniture. George Jones, being in possession of my usual strength of mind. First I wish all honest & just demands on me to be discharged. I desire my wife Elizabeth to have the following negroes viz . Ben, Phebe, & their son Charles & Eliza and her dtr. Juda, one carriage & 2 heroes, 3 mules & the new waggon, 10 cows and calves, 60 head hogs, one third of real estate and household furniture. The estate to be under controll of my wife during her lifetime. I leave Hary and his wife & their boy Guiden in care of my wife for the support of my son George and he is not subject to any debts, hereafter made except the one owed to my son William, which debt I desire paid from the estate, I wish my wife to appoint a guardian for my son George. I leave my dtr. Mary the following negroes, Milly & her 3 chn. Jane, Robert & Uery, man named Ernie & Sam, Jacob & Joe, women called Lucinda, one Forte piano, one horse, saddle & bridle. I give unto my son John, negroes Lewis, Ben, Dodd, Dock, woman named Milly (dtr. of Ben & Phebe) & her child named George, a girl named Peg, one young horse, I have given him the sum of $4000. I have given to my son Thomas the sum of $4,000, I now give him a negro boy named Anthony with $700. I have given to my son Edmond the sum of $5,964, also I give him a negro boy Oliver Perry and at my death to have my silver watch. I have unto [sic] my son William cash & property worth $4,080. I have given my dtr. Caroline Young cash & property worth $4,055. I have given my son Edwin $3,974. I have given my son George cash & property worth $3,689. I appoint my son Edwin guardian of my son John & dtr. Mary during their infancy. I appoint my sons William & Erwin my executors. Wit: Willis Foster, Ephraim Littlejohn. Signed George Jones Codicil: Dated Oct 15, 1842. I hereby appoint my son John as an executor with William and Erwin to my will dated Nov 2, 1841. Also John is to assist his mother in the management of her property, and of the property of my son George a comfortable support as is common in this part of the country, my wife Elizabeth all household & kitchen furniture, also a negro girl named Het dtr. of Hary & Rachel, also a man named Sutton during her natural life, said negro Sutton now in possession of my son-in-law Doctor Robert MC Young of Cass County GA.
