Hi, all I received a gedcom file many years ago which deals with many Rutherford Co., NC families, and I have been using it as a reference file for a good while. Today, while running through the 1850 Cleveland Co. census, I ran across the family of John J. Jones, singing master, on p137 in dwelling #305. I did not have him in my main database, so I wanted to see if he appeared in this gedcom file, and the answer was yes. In fact, I have John as the son of Shadrack Green. Problem is, I have Shadrack married to Mary Gage per records obtained from another cousin. My questions: Was there a marriage between Shadrack Green and Martha Jones? Was there a marriage between Shadrack Green and Mary Gage? If the answer to both questions above is "yes", then are these two the same person? If the answer to that last question is "no', then does anyone know the relationship between these two Shadracks? Looking back through my email archive, I see that some of this has been hashed around before, but I didn't actually find a definitive answer. Help, please, if you can :-) Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg
