I am researching George Washington Crawford and his father-in-law, Samuel Hunter. Washington Crawford married Polly Hunter in Rutherford Co., NC in 1804. In their later years, they are found in Union Co. GA (census 1850) listed as George W. and Mary Crawford. I believe George Washington's father to be John Crawford, as their is some deed interaction, but the one deed I've found does not specify a relationship. George and Mary had a son living near them in GA named Samuel Hunter Crawford who stated that he was born in Rutherford Co., NC. Any one else researching these families? I believe they were gone from Rutherford Co. by 1830. Ida
