I had read of Golden Valley but did not know of the prior name of Whiteside Settlement. Where did you learn this history? Some family history I have refers to Golden Valley but does not mention Whiteside. Whiteside Settlement must have predated their time there. Was there a Mr. Whiteside who settled the area first?
