Obituaries MRS. LULA JUSTICE Rutherfordton, N.C.Feb.12.- The funeral of MRS. LULA TANNER JUSTICE, 70, who was educated at Converse college, Sptbg. were conducted today at her residence in Rutherfordton. MRS. JUSTICE who was the widow of Judge MICHAEL HOKE JUSTICE, died after an extended illness. Native of Sptbg, d/o the late ANDREW and MRS. CAROLINE CANNON TANNER. She was a sister of the late S.B. TANNER. Survived by a daughter, MRS. LESLIE TAYLOR of Rutherfordton; two stepsons. DR. GASTON JUSTICE of Marion and M.H. JUSTICE , JR. of Norfolk, Va. and several grandchildren MRS. JUSTICE was a member of the First Meth. church. Her husband died Feb. 12, 1919, while holding superior court in Asheville. PLATO L. BLANTON Gaffney, Feb.7.- Last rites for PLATO LEISTER BLANTON, 29, Limestone Mills employee, who died at the hospital here yesterday were to be conducted at Cporinth Bapt. Church. Surviving are his wife, MRS. IRENE PINNEX BLANTON; a daughter, IVOR GAYLE BLANTON; his mother, and 3 sisters, MRS. ERNEST HALL, Forest City and MRS. ERNEST DORMAN and MRS. HOMER HUMPHRIES of Gaffney. MRS. BEATRICE SCRUGGS Henrietta, Jan.5.- Funeral services for MRS. BEATRICE DOBBINS SCRUGGS, who died suddenly at her home Sunday were to be conducted at Goodes Creek Bapt. Church by the REV. B.M. STRICKLAND. She is survived by her husband, her mother; MRS. SARA DOBBINS, 3 daughters, MRS. LUVENIA TESSINAR of Tuliahoma, Tenn, MRS. IRENE LANGLEY of Spindale, and MRS. HAZEL HAMERICK of Cliffside, a brother, J.P. DOBBINS of Cliffside and 3 grandchildren. RED CROSS DRIVE TO BEGIN TODAY Forest City, Jan.12.- Forest City is all set to begin a city wide campaign Monday to raise $1, 500. toward the county's quota of $7, 500 for the American Red Cross war fund. He has urged every ciotizen to do his or her part to help go over the top. --- Forest City, N.C., Feb.12.- Community directors for the auxiliary fire and police dept's of Rutherford Co. have been appointed by the civilian defense council, and the names of volunteers signing up for this branch of defense work have been fowarded to the chiefs, who will enroll them in their community organizations.
