The Sun - March 15, 1928 Mrs. Jay Gossett is Buried Friday. Union Mills Rt. 3 Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bills Creek Baptist church at two oclock for Mrs. Jay Gossett, who died at eleven o clock Wednesday night after an illness of over a year. Rev. Pink White officiated. Interment took place in the cemetery adjoining the church. The deceased is survived by her husband, Mr. Jay Gossett; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Frady; three sisters, Mrs. Sam Conner, Mrs. Pink Smith and Mrs. Jay Bradley, all of Green Hill, and two brothers, Mr. L. H. Frady, of Drakes, S. C. and Mr. John Frady of South Carolina. There were many beautiful flowers sent as tokens of respect, affection and love. The flowers were carried by friends and relatives. After the casket was placed upon the bier in front of the pulpit the choir sang a hymn and scriptures were read by the Rev. Pink White and a prayer followed. The late Mrs. Gossett was born December 17, 1882. She joined the church at Bills Creek at an early age; was a good Christian woman, a good neighbor, and will be greatly missed in the community. The Sun December 20, 1928 J. C. Weeks is laid to his last rest Spindale, Dec. 14 the many relatives and friends of Mr. J. C. Weeks were saddened to hear of his death on Monday, Dec, 10, after a two weeks illness of influenza. Mr. Weeks was seventy-nine years old on November 12th, and had led a faithful Christian life. His first marriage was to Miss Alice Fisher, of Chattanooga, Tenn., who preceded him to the grave in 1908, and in 1912 he married Miss Lizzie Grayson. Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife, three brothers, Leonard and Julius Weeks, of Westminster, and Nathaniel, of Marion, and two children, Annie Goode of Spindale and L. A. Weeks of Crystal Hill, VA. He also leave five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The pall bearers were Messars. Roy Weeks, Bob Weeks, Gordon Morgan, Deck Hampton, Harris Edgerton and Walter Goode.
