July 21, 1943. Forest City, The Rev. J.W.G. SMITH, 77, Methodist minister, who was a widely known contractor and builder in the early life, died here this afternoon after an illness of 5 weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at the Missionary Meth. church of which he was a member. Interment will be in the Cool Springs cemetery. He is survived by 2 sons, JOE M., Hendersonville and S. FRANK SMITH, Forest City; 11 grandchildren. Six of his grandchildren are with the armed forces. MR. SMITH was a native of Rutherford county, the s/o the late MR. d MRS. TERRELL SMITH of the Race Path community . He had resided in Forest City since 1909. ---- March 14, 1929 Rutherfordton- MISS POLLY GREEN, aged 81 years and 5 months, died at the home of her sister, MRS. E. ROBERTS, near Mountain View church, after a week's illness. She had been making her home with her sister for sometime. Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant Bapt. church, in Cleveland Co. MISS GREEN is survived by 3 sisters, MRS. E. ROBERTS, Rutherfordton, MRS. BETTY CHAMPION, Rutherfordton and MRS. SUSIE WOOD, of near Henrietta. She was a native of Cleveland Co. She had been a life long member of the Mt.
