HOPEWELL CEMETERY (OLD) This cemetery is located in the Hopewell-Hollis area of Rutherford county. It is located about 1.4 miles east of the present Hopewell Methodist Church, north of Ellenboro. It is situated in an island of pine trees in and open field about 500 feet off the north side of the Hopewell Road (County road # 1760). The cemetery covers about 2 acres and contains several hundred old graves, but unfortunately only about four of them have inscribed markers, as shown herewith. My 3xgreatgrandparents were moved from this cemetery to Beulah Methodist cemetery in Cleveland County in the 80's I believe. Looking to find out if any other Wolfe's besides Jacob Wolfe and Nancy McEntire Thompson his wife were buried there. I had that the Nancy C (Wolfe?) Bowen above was their daughter but found out they weren't, that John Davis above was probably her father and not sure of who her mother was. Is there a church affiliated with this cemetery that may have some records of who may have been buried there in Rutherford County?
