Hello everyone, I am going to be in North Carolina from March 16-25. I am hoping to do as much genealogy as I can while there. I will be trying to find where my Nowlins and Wilkinsons lived in Rutherford/Cleveland county. I have a question for those of you who live in the area. I have talked to a Nowlin descendant, Dr. Paul Nolan who lives in Tennessee. He said he remembers finding the grave of Hardin Nowlin who died in 1805. It was out in a field. There was a large, stand up stone. He said big enough that children were playing on it. This may/probably would have been somewhere in the Lawndale area. I believe somewhere in the vicinity of Magness Creek/Big Harris Creek. There is a Nolan Rd. in that area now, so it may be somewhere along there. Has anyone heard of or seen this grave? Hardin Nowlin is my 4th great uncle. I have reason to believe he was probably buried on the land of his father David Nowlin Sr. my 5th great grandfather. I would love to find where they were and also the Wilkinsons. I plan to take lots of pictures and hopefully they will come out clear enough to share! Thanks, Melody Booker
