Hi, I am a new subscriber to the List and am a direct descendant of Thomas Edward JUSTICE, SR and Mary DYER, through their son, Amos. Am searching for Tom Sr. and Mary's resting places as well as Tom's probate papers. I have the Wills of Tom's father, son and grandson, but do not have anything on him. Thomas Justice was a Baptist Minister. Lived 1781-1789 Rutherford CO, NC; 1790-1815 Buncombe Co. NC;  1816 Bedford Co, TN and then  1831 in Rutherford Co, NC. He was born (from census records) in 1825. We know that he lived in Polk Co. and Rutherford Co.. Do you know any more about your Mary Dyer? My Aunt before she died said her Grandfather was part Blackfoot Indian. And, that he was run out of Forest City (in Rutherford Co.) because of it. I will keep your information on hand. Barbara, Mary Dyer, born Abt. 1761 or 1769 in Halifax Co, VA and died in Rutherford Co, N. C... She was the daughter of James Monroe DYER and Winifred TRIBBLE.. I am still trying to find documentation to support her parentage. Most of my DYERS seem to hail from Pittsylvania Co, VA, Halifax Co, VA, or Caroline Co., VA. I checked and I do not have a Sam DYER in my database, but that doesn't surprise me.. I have info back to 1650, and my direct line.. I do have the names of the siblings of my direct line [and some with birth and death years].. Will be happy to exchange info, if interested.. Since your Sam was born in 1825, and my Mary was born 1761 or 69, that's 64 years difference.. Mary might end up being a great aunt, or something....
