I have a Rutherford Land transaction that have two dates (1855 & 1838) can someone help me to understand, or find which date is correct......thanks phil No 319 This the 8th day of Decer. 1855 This indenture made this fifteenth day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine between George Panther and his wife Mary of the one part and Thomas Nanny of the other part. All of the County of Rutherford and state of North Carolina. Witnesseth, that the aforesaid George Panter and his wife Mary, heirs and legatees of Shadrack Nanny, dec'd. for and in consideration of sixty two dollars and fifty cents to him in hand paid by the aforesaid Thomas Nanny the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold unto the aforesaid Thomas Nanny all their interest and right and title in two tracts or parcels of land containing one hundred and seventy five acres be the same more or less lying on both sides of Cathey's Creek and joining lands withJohn Koonce above and Thomas Nanny below it being all an interest in the land of Shadrick Nanny died posessed of and we will warrant and forever defend the right and title of the aforesaid Thomas Nanny, his heirs! and assigns forever.
