March 20 L. BEN LOVELACE , 56, died at his home on Settlemyer St. after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Walls Bapt. church between Bostic and Ellenboro, N.C. by Rev. T.W. SMAHT of Gaffney. Shuford-Hatcher in charge. MR. LOVELACE is survived by his widow, who before marriage was MISS OLA BOWERS and the following children; G.B., BARNEY, EARL, FRANCIS, CALVIN, JAMES and J.C. A half-brother, WAYNE TESSENEAR and a sister, MRS. ANNA KIZER also survive. ---- Shelby, March 24.- The funeral of MRS. PATTIE BLANTON, widow of BURWELL H. BLANTON, one of the pioneer bankers of Shelby is being conducted at the home of her step-son, CHAS. C. BLANTON, she having died at the Blanton home on N. Laafayette St. following an illness of six months. She having come here in 1880 as MISS PATTIE RAMSEY of Chatham county. In childhood she resided in Pittsboro and in young woman hood came to Shelby to engage in business. She was married to BURWELL H. BLANTON in the spring of 1893, being the second wife of MR. BLANTON. After his death in 1908 she continued to make her home with her step-son to whom she was devoted. Surviving are the following step-children; CHAS C. and GEORGE BLANTON , Shelby; MRS. J.RUSH OATES and B.E. BLANTON, Asheville; MRS. GEORGE M. WEBB , Birmingham, Ala. and a number of step-grandchildren. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family, all of her brothers and sisters have preceded her to the grave. A number of nieces and nephews survive in various sections of the U.S.; MISS CLARA RAMSEY, Asheville; MRS. ANNA RAMSEY WHARTON, Cuba; MRS. ADELAIDE RAMSEY HANCOCK, Charleston; MRS. PAULINE RAMSEY OAKEY, Salem, Va.
