My g-g-g-grandfather was John Reid, Jr., b. 1798 in Rutherford Co. He was married to Nancy Logan, dau of Andrew Logan. John's father was John Reed of Rutherford Co, who was married to Elizabeth Smart. There was an earlier John Reed in Rutherford who was married to Martha Little. I would like for someone to look through the Rutherford Co Heritage Book (or any other county history book) to see if any of these Reed/Reid families is written up. My main questions are: (1) Am I correct in my assumption that John Reid, Jr's father is the John Reid who married Elizabeth Smart? (2) What, if any, is the relationship between John Reed, wife of Elizabeth Smart, and the older John Reed who was married to Martha Little? (3) Who were all the children in these three families?
