ADAM BLACK, 72 of near Rutherfordton, died at the hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Olive Bapt. Church. She is survived by her husband and one son, CHARLIE of the home. ----- Rutherfordton, Aug. 8.- ANDREW SHARP HILL, 76, of Chesnee, S.C. died unexpectedly Monday morning at his home. Surviving are 6 sons; JULIUS and JESSIE of Clifton, JIM and C.B. HILL of Sptbg. and LEO and MONROE HILL of near Chesnee; 3 daughters, MRS. CARRIE THOMAS of Chesnee, MRS. LILLIE MAE STEADMAN and MRS. GREENE , Mooresboro, N.C. and ELLEN GERTRUDE GREENE, Spindale, N.C. ----- LT. KENDRICK DIES IN KOREA; Second Lt. DAVID O'NEIL KENDRICK, 22 s/o MR. and MRS. D.H. KENDRICK of Mayo has been killed in the Korean war. Word of his death on July 24, was received by his wife, MRS. ESTELLE NORMAN KENDRICK of Henrietta, N.C. He was the first Spartanburg County man reported killed in action in the Korean fighting. DOYLE W. HAMMETT, s/o MR. and MRS. BOYD W. HAMMETT of Sptbg. , last week was reported missing in action since July 12. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sherry. He had been overseas in Korea for about 2 weeks prior to his death. Lt. KENDRICK was the nephew of city Patrolman, E.L.
