Cousins: Lindsey, McClurkin, Waldrop I'm looking for information that will help sort out the various LINDSEY / LINDSAY / LINSEY ,etc. folks who were in Rutherford County around 1790-1810 or so. My proven ancestor among the bunch was Micajah, who may have been a brother to Caleb, Carlton, James and John. Some of these may have been cousins rather than brothers, and the father (or fathers) may have been named James, James William, or Caleb. Most of what I have on the family at that time comes from Rutherford Co. NC and Spartanburg Co. SC land records. Micajah married Elizabeth McCLURKIN, a sister to the Nancy and Hester McClurkin who married Robert and Zachariah WALDROP in Rutherford Co. The whole clan was eventually in the area around Birmingham, AL, although Micajah and Elizabeth moved on to Mississippi. Margaret Lindsey Smith
