Hi, all From the marriage register of Rutherford Co. 1898-1909 I have the marriage record for my grandparents Joseph Baxter Lovelace and Arrie Wright. They were married 9 Mar 1902 by S. M. Beam, Justice of the Peace, at Beam's residence. The witnesses to the wedding were J. C. Bridges, R. J. Butler, and Joseph Beam. In my database I have brothers (according to the Hamrick website of JR McKinney) Samuel Monroe Beam and Solon M. Beam. Samuel Monroe Beam has a son Joseph Beam. So I'm wondering if anyone on this list knows whether Samuel Monroe Beam (1851-1938) was a Justice of the Peace in 1902. If so, he was probably the one who married my grandparents. My grandfather at this time was living somewhere in the Walls Church section west of Piney Mountain Road somewhere near the Hollis Road area. I don't know where S. M. Beam's residence was. Can anyone confirm that S. M. Beam, Justice of the Peace, was in fact Samuel Monroe Beam? Or could he have been Solon M. Beam, Samuel's brother? Thanks for any help.
