    3. Hi All Are there any members of the Harrill or Bolton families living in Rutherford Co. that may be able to help with info on my Grandmother. Been told by a great aunt that her father and mother were killed in a buggy accident, and she was raised by family. Her parents were Alfred Harrill and Hattie Bolton. Her name was Alma Mae and she married Addie Hull Smart on 7 Jan 1912. Believe this accident would have occurred in the 1890. Does anyone have Rutherford Co. marriage record or death records for that time. Any help would be appreicated Thanks Ansel

    3. Hello, A quick look at my Rutherford County marriage book indicates one Allen Harrill, age 21, white, and Hattie Bolton, no age or color listed, had a marriage license issued on 2 May 1892. Note the folks who abstracted this book could have misinterpreted the groom's first name. You might want to check Bill Floyd's website http://www.rfci.net/wdfloyd besides cemeteries he also has access to digital images of many of the marriage licenses. The 1900 Federal Census for Rutherford County, NC, finds a little girl named Alma Harrill, age 6, born July 1893, & listed as the niece of the head of household living in the Caroleen Township in House #197.
