Please, please help with a look out for the name JECTION. I am trying to trace exactly where land belonging to my ancestor, Freeman Jones, is located. It was originally in Rutherford County but is now located in Polk County. My problem is that I have not found the person he sold the land to in the Grantor's index. The person was David Jection. The name is quite clear on the original deed. It seems to me that I should be able to find where he disposed of the land by searching the Grantor's index but have found nothing. I have even searched the internet for any Jections and only found a Jection in the Tennessee Death Index -1910 by the name of Inter Jection. Sounds like a joke to me. Of course, that is better than Re Jection. The land was transferred from George Parris (his father-in-law)to Freeman in 1786 and is described as 100 acres on fork of Bright's Creek of Green River above Austin's entry, including Pulliam's improvement. The original grant by the State of North Carolina to George Paris described this land as being on the south fork of Bright's Creek. Does anyone know where the south fork of Bright's Creek is located? I find Bright's Creek on the USGS maps but nothing that says "south fork." Harms Creek is south of Bright's Creek but I'm not seeing an intervening fork. I greatly appreciate any help anyone can give in helping to find this land. Sandra Olsen
