    3. Hi, This is a reply I sent someone else awhile back that was in regard to Melody's posts to the mail list. I have to uphold her write to post the same as I do anyone else as long as she remains within the guidlines delinated by Rootsweb. As to however anyone signs their mail as...that too is not outside the guidlines if you want to say you are a professional researcher or genealogist. This was my reply at that time and it still fits here........ "I see nowhere in the message to the list any mention of a fee. I went to the website and the information that their email message mentions is free. Look at the top of the website and you will see a link that says "Free Info". I am sorry that you are offended but since the sender does not ask for money or allude to a "For Fee" product she is within her right to post a notice to the list stating she has records that are free on her website. She never mentioned or asked for a fee on the list. My advice is to accept her free info "as is". So, the bottom line is that as long as you don't ask for money on the mail list, what you put on your personal website is up to you. Rootsweb cannot tell you that you can't offer free information and for sale information on your personal sites. No one has to visit her site if they feel offended by the mixed content. Also, if anyone has saved a post from anyone that I have missed that asks for money, then please forward it to me. I am not going to go back and read all the posts again. I look at each one as they come in and nothing "triggered" any alarms that I might need to gently remind someone they are committing a "no no". Debbie Fowler list admin
