Hello Everyone, While looking thru the deed books I found something that is quite interesting: Book 7-9 p.13 Grant State of NC to David Nowlin Woodward December 18, 1797 250 acres on Sampson's Branch Crowder's line, White's line My 5th great grandfather was David Nowlin Sr. His wife is only known as Betty, but I believe her maiden name was Woodward (working to prove that). So who is this David Nowlin Woodward? A son of one of the Peter Woodwards who were in Rutherford at the time (father and son?)? Is the Crowder William Crowder? William's son Jarrell married David Nowlin Sr.'s daughter Sarah. Who is the White? There are several who lived around the Nowlins: Peter, Jeremiah, Thomas. Lastly, does anyone know where Sampson's Branch is? I think it must be off of First Broad River, where the Nowlins were. I cannot find it in my current atlas. Thanks, Melody Booker
