    3. Hi Everyone, I have been busy searching the listowner archives and I think I have an answer. Emma (bless her) was right about the original poster ie: "fed up". He posted to many lists. When someone does that, then it doesn't matter if they are legitimate list members or someone who just joined to promote personal interests, rootsweb spamblocker catches it as spam. Since for me it only appreared on one list. Rutherford cty, I did not see his post as a problem - and I did think that some of what he posted was helpful so I let it be. For those of you who replied to his post, when rootsweb removed his "spam messages", then you, having replied to him, were sent a message asking if you wanted to remove your post or something to that effect. I believe a link is provided so that if you click on it, you are agreeing to remove your post. So, the bottom line on the archive message removal thing is, it's because you posted a reply that you were asked if you wanted to remove your post. The original poster was unsubscribed as far as I know, not because he was not a legit member, but because he spammed the lists. Does not matter the subject line he used or even if his post was legit. Only that he posted it all over..... If he had sent it to 1, 2, or even 5 lists, it probably would have been ok - more than that, it was not. Since I am a list admin and member of at least 5 lists, I have sent the same message to at least that many at once and not had a problem having it dealt with as spam. I have no answer about the unsub requests some of you may have received. Just delete that message and consider it bogus. If you think you have been unsub'd from a list, just resub. You won't get 2 copies of the list mail. Whew! Glad that is over.... Debbie List admin PS...sometimes I get requests to remove someone because they have changed their email address and want the old one unsub'd. Don't worry about the old one. Join under your new address and once the old one bounces 3 times it's automatically removed anyway.
