So, this is what internet genealogy has come to. If you dare to criticize the way things are done in Corporate Genealogy then not only are you unsubscribed without a hearing, but all traces of your thoughts are expunged from the archives. I would understand it if a person showed a repeated pattern of abusing the rules, but apparently one infraction is all it takes. I have feared this day ever since Rootsweb was bought out by Ancestry.com. Now it has arrived. I refuse to play along. I have decided to become an insurgent. I will go on Familytreemaker and create one bogus tree after another. Then I will cut and past family lines from other family trees into my software and download them to Rootsweb. I will make George Washington the father of hordes of out-of-wedlock kids. Everybody will have an Indian Princess in their backgrounds. Pocahontas will be everybody's ggggggrandmother. I'll mix slaves and whites. How much damage do you think I could do in a year's time? Plenty. If Ancestry's databases become so corrupted that nobody can trust them then perhaps they will get the message and treat us with the respect we deserve.
