Hi, all One of the last couple bulletins of the Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County (OTCGS) published abstracts from Rutherford Co. Records of Deeds, 1809-1816; Deed Book 25. I had my trusty cousin Cecil Lovelace go over to the courthouse and try to get copies of a couple of the deeds abstracted, but Cecil was unable to find them.... Perhaps they've been torn out of the old deed book? I checked with the NC State Archives, and they have the deed book on microfilm and will make me copies, but it'll take several weeks. I was wondering if anyone on the list had access to the microfilm or some other resource which may have copies or scans of these deeds. They are in the Walls Church/Piney Mountain area, and I'm interested in getting the actual metes and bounds from the deeds so I can plat them out and try to locate on a topo map. Here are the two deeds in question: (1) NC Archives: Book 25, p203; Eaves to Wall, 1810 OTCGS abstract: Book 25, #302, p. 265; Bartlett Eaves to Amos Wall, 8 Jan 1808, recorded 2 Sept 1810 (2) NC Archives: Book 25, p. 240-41; Green to Hamrick OTCGS abstract: Book 25, #337, p. 305; Henry Green to David Hamrick, 27 Sept 1810, recorded 16 Nov 1810 Looks like the Archives and the OTCGS differ on the page numbers! Maybe that was why Cecil couldn't find the deeds in the first place.... Would anyone be able to get photocopies or accurate transcripts of these two deeds for me?
