    1. [NCRUTHER-L] Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB, 1760-1765 to 1830-1840
    2. Larry Loiselle
    3. I am seeking any additional information that you can provide about the parents/siblings of Pleasant Webb. Thanks a million. ================================================================ Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB was born about ca 1760-1765. His son, Elias, said that his father, Pleasant was born in Ireland (not substantiated). He died between 1830 and 1840 in Ohio, USA. Around 1800 Pleasant and family came in to the Ohio valley from Rutherford County, North Carolina. In 1803 (reported to be 45 years old) he was in Scioto County, Ohio and was said to be a notorious character. Supposedly, he tried to break up a fight between James Bradley and the wife and children of James Quire (Squires). He ended up shooting Mr. Quire (Squires). After this incident at the Licks, he was driven out of that area. He is also said to have been a Tory during the Revolutionary War. Pleasant was in GreenupCounty, Kentucky in 1820 and in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1830, he did not appear in the 1840 census, so it is believed he died between 1830-1840. Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB and Wife Unknown had the following children: James WEBB (1786), Elias WEBB (1788), Thomas Hanley WEBB (1795), Ade! n WEBB (1797), Temperance WEBB (1799), William WEBB (1801), Margaret WEBB (1806), Sarah (Sally) WEBB (1809), and Baker WEBB (1811). 1. [NCRUTHER-L] Female Lindseys in Rutherford Co. c1800
    2. Margaret Smith
    3. Micajah Lindsey (m Elizabeth McLurkin/McClurken) was in Rutherford Co. NC around 1800. He is believed to have been in Surry Co. before that, and to have moved on to Spartenburg Co. SC later, before eventually moving to Mississippi by way of Alabama. Evidence seems to point to his having been a son to James Lindsey and brother to Carlton Lindsey. In gathering information about the family, I realized that I have little on any possible female members. There are two marriages of (presumably) two different Mary Lindseys, both of whom married men named Roberts. Does anyone have any information on who these Marys were? Roberts, Morris /// Linsey, Mary Feb 4, 1804 James Linsey (bond) C. Wilkins (witness) Roberts, Josiah /// Linsey, Mary Sep 1, 1803 Morris Roberts (bond) William McBrayer (witness) One theory is that they were a widow and her daughter, who married a widower and his son, or perhaps nephew, but I know of no proof of this. The slight evidence is that Morris posted bond for Josiah. Does anyone have information on any other Lindsey females in Rutherford County between, say, 1790 and 1805, who could have conceivably have been a part of Micajah's extended family? 1. [NCRUTHER-L] 1760 VA- a reconstructed census
    2. I was just looking through a "Virginia in 1760-A Renstructed Census" and came across just a handful of Dentons but the Thomas in Hanover Co hit me because the John Denton that died in Rutherford Co, NC before June 1850 had come to NC from Hanover Co, VA Any chance this Thomas is John's father? and / or the Thomas that was in Rutherford Co, NC briefly while John was there? Could this have been the Thomas who last showed in the Burke Co, NC census iin 1830 as 90 to 100 years old? Thomas was the only Denton in this book in Hanover Co, VA the source given in the book was "Goochland Co, VA Deed Book 8 1759-1765. LVA reel 3 pages 72 and 111. The Goochland county rang a bell to me as having seen a record on the LDS site IGI for John Faires Denton b. Oct 1, 1771 to Thomas Denton and Mary Faires and a John Denton having married a Susan Thacker there in Goochland Co,VA on Jan 4, 1773. Unsure as to how they connect?? The other Dentons in the 1760 index were Abrahm, Benjamin, and John in Frederick Co, VA (references Frederick Co, VA Orders Books 8 and 9, LVA reel 69) and Joseph Denton in Sussex Co reference was to Sussex Co Will Book A page 182---boy I'd love to see that will!!! Can anyone out there help me put any of these guys together with their descendants? Hoping to find connections to my Joseph Denton who died in Burke Co, NC sometime before 1830. Audrey Orlando, FL

    3. It took me a few minutes but I figured this out, curiosity made me! Mr. Sarrett's index, thank you Mr. Sarrett, on Rootsweb covers two different microfilm rolls, M-432 644 and M-432 625. M-432 644 has Rutherford County on it and 625 has Cleveland County. Ancestry's images for Cleveland County are pages 117-220. I don't see a reference on the index to any pages between 220 and 231, but I may have missed something. So, in short, look in Cleveland County on Ancestry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tamara Stevens" <tamara@bearsandhares.com> To: <NCRUTHER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 26, 2002 6:05 PM Subject: [NCRUTHER-L] 1850 Rutherford census > I'm trying to figure out how to find pages numbered below 231 on the > 1850 census.
