    2. I have a Robbin Green who married a Martha Bridges. But, on the Lovelace side there are a lot of Lovelace's in Rutherford County aren't there? My cousin married a Lovelace. He died unexpectedly in 2002. I also have a Lovelace on my chart that I'm not sure where it came from? Barry A. Lovelace who married Delphia Hardin Bridges. He was her second marriage. The first was Samuel Bridges. Delphia and Barry had two children -- Cicero and Victor. Thank you for responding. 1. JOHN & DAVID L. POOL FAMILY-DESCENDANCY
    2. Betty A. Pace
    3. I have tried to research JOHN POOL (d.1832--wife Elizabeth), but there were two John Pools in Rowan Co. in this time frame. One was descended from the Dutch Van Pools and apparently the other was an English Pool/Poole. There was a family story that we were Dutch and originally Van Pools, but this might just be a story. One Van Pool researcher told me that the property of my John Pool was not located in the same area as the other Van Pools, but I don't know if this is accurate or relevant. In addition, that Van Pool researcher said that my John Pool was too wealthy (owned slaves--I have a document on this) and therefore could not be a Van Pool. John Pool turned up in Rowan Co., NC about 1810. He bought valuable property, so he was not from a poor family. Where did the money come from? I suspect he moved from another NC county before coming to Rowan Co. NC. Blow aare his descendants. DAVID L(awton?). POOL(B.1810-13) was a silversmith in Salisbury, Rowan Co., NC after the death of his father JOHN POOL(wife ELIZABETH, d.1839) in 1832. David was the executor of his father's will. Later David L. Pool sold his share of the Rowan Co. plantation/property to his brother Joseph. Other children of John and Elizabeth Pool (besides David L.) named in the will were: 1)ELIZABETH POOL (b.6/1807-d.1834) m.PETER M. BROWN (m.1828) John Lewis Brown m. Nannie Jane Kerr Margaret C. 3. Yes, they are available. If the couple had a Marriage Bond, those are available. Some couples didn't have a bond even though they were required to have one if they married in NC---they married in a church or in SC just across from Rutherford line. 1. Rutherford Co, NC Webbs (late 1700's)
    2. Larry
    3. I am interested in the parents and siblings of William Webb, b. ca 1750 NC, who was married to Ursala Caroline (Holt) Coleman (Richard Coleman's step-daughter). The court records talk about this William Webb and a William Webb Sr. I suspect that my Pleasant Webb, b. ca 1762, may be related to these William Webbs and maybe Richard Coleman also. There is also a Robert Webb in the mix at that time (late 1700's in Rutherford County, NC). Pleasant has been my road block, can't find siblings or parents. One researcher said: "Someone has posted on ancestry.com: William Webb: born 11 May 1754, Washington, Maryland Died: 1806, Washington, Maryland Father: William Webb. mother, Isabella Charlton Married: Ursela Caroline Coleman Born: 1754 in Ireland Died: 1830, Rutherford County, North Carolina" Another researcher said Pleasant was a son of Reverend John Webb and Sarah Byars. Don't think this is true. Here is what I have on Pleasant: Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB was born about ca 1760-1765. His son, Elias, said that his father, Pleasant was born in Ireland (not substantiated). He died between 1830 and 1840 in Ohio, USA. Around 1800 Pleasant and family came in to the Ohio valley from Rutherford County, North Carolina. In 1803 (reported to be 45 years old) he was at the Licks in Scioto County, Ohio. Pleasant was in GreenupCounty, Kentucky in 1820 and in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1830. He did not appear in the 1840 census, so it is believed he died between 1830-1840. Pleasant (Plesent) WEBB and Unknown had the following children: James WEBB (1786), Elias WEBB (1788), Thomas Hanley WEBB (1795), Aden WEBB (1797), Temperance WEBB (1799), William WEBB (1801), Margaret WEBB (1806), Sarah (Sally) WEBB (1809), and Baker WEBB (1811). The MAHAFFEE family moved to Rutherford County, NC in the late 1890s, it appears. Info on the FORTUNE family would be great, if you would like to share. Max G. Mahaffee Max, we have corresponded before been a couple or 3 years.. I am not home where my info is on my old computer. Your Johnnie Fortune I believe was sister to my D B Doc Fortune, as their parents were Pleasant Fortune and Martha Elizabeth Suttle. Did I ever send the article where Martha baked a pie and had a tool in it to free D B Doc Fortune from jail? It was written in The Forest City Courier, don't know what year, but I believe it was much earlier in the 1920's or so by a Lucy Fortune. It was sent to me by a Grover Haynes relative. Haven't heard from him in a long time and if he is out there and sees this please get in touch with me. I will send whatever I have on my Fortune's when I get home. I hope to get to NC sometime this spring as my husband has promised to take me so I can go cemetary hopping and try to find some answers I have been, unable to find on my 4xgreatgrandparents Jacob Wolf and Mary Polly Deadman. I have many many relatives both deceased and alive in the Cleveland and Rutherford County area. Please remind me in about 3 weeks to send you the info on the Fortune's I have. I also have a pic of D B Doc Fortune and Serena Catherine Williams, greatgrandparents with some other relatives in it, such as Leander Holland, Summey, Condrey, can't remember names right off hand. Also have pics of my grandparents Raleigh Washington Fortune, Minnie "Ethel" Grigg, Greatgrandpparents Nancy Ellen Wolfe and Doc Franklin Grigg they are buriied at Rehobeth Methodist Church in Shelby, NC. 2. Hi Melanie, Most of the Fortune's were from up in the Golden Valley area. I think some were in the Duncan's Creek area. Then they moved on down toward Cliffside, to High Shoal district. Cliffside isn't far from the NC /SC line. About 10 minutes.
