    3. I am looking for information on my ggggrandfather, David Gregory, who, according to his military records from the civil war, was born in Rutherford Co, NC in 1810. His name was David Richard Gregory (or Richard David Gregory). From census information, it appears that his father was born in Pennsylvania but I have no information on him. Would appreciate hearing from any Gregory researchers who might have information on this line. There is a George? Gregory, Rev. Vet born PA who had a son David born in 1810 but I was told he was not my David - that perhaps George had a brother with a son David. Any help appreciated Linda

    3. At 08:13 AM 2/10/2005, CBARBIE2000@aol.com wrote: >I have a Robbin Green who married a Martha Bridges. My data says that Robert "Robbin" Green was the son of William and Nancy Green (based on an email correspondence I had back in 1998). He was married twice, first to Mary Bridges 17 Jul 1837 (she was the daughter of Samuel and Mollie Hamrick Bridges according to "The Hamrick Generations"), and second to Martha Susannah Bridges 4 Feb 1883 (the daughter of Caleb and Nancy Young Bridges, again according to "The Hamrick Generations"). Mary Jane Green, the daughter of Robert and Mary Bridges Green, was my gggrandmother. She was married to George Logan Lovelace on 8 Feb 1866 just following George's return from the War. >But, on the Lovelace side there are a lot of Lovelace's in Rutherford >County aren't there? Yes, there are :-) There is a tight group of Lovelace researchers who are now getting a decent handle on many of the Rutherford Co. Lovelace families. DNA testing is ongoing and points us back to the Lovelace families in early colonial Maryland. >My cousin married a Lovelace. He died unexpectedly in 2002. Would you care to share information on your cousin's husband? >I also have a Lovelace on my chart that I'm not sure where it came from? >Barry A. Lovelace who married Delphia Hardin Bridges. He was her second >marriage. The first was Samuel Bridges. Delphia and Barry had two >children -- Cicero and Victor. Thank you for responding. My data disagrees with this.... I do have Delphia Hardin married to James Bridges, but then I have her married to Berry HAMRICK, not Lovelace. This data is from "The Hamrick Generations". I have Berry Allison Lovelace, the youngest son of Asa and Susannah Hardin Lovelace, married to Mary E. Bridges 4 Jan 1866, I would assume in Cleveland Co. Mary was the daughter of Caleb and Nancy Young Bridges and was the sister of Martha Susannah Bridges, the second wife of Robert "Robbin" Green. Berry and Mary's children were Cicero Columbus Lovelace, b. 3 Apr 1867, and Burwell Victor Lovelace, b. 3 Feb 1869. Asa Lovelace was one of three Lovelace brothers who are thought to have come into Rutherford Co. in the early 1800s from Maryland via Spartanburg Co., SC. The boys Asa, Nathan, and Benjamin are thought to be sons of Barton and Lucy Watson Lovelace. There is possibly a fourth son, Samuel, who resided in Spartanburg Co., SC. Barton is believed to be the same Bartin Lovlis who is listed as a 19yo in the home of Benjamin (b. 1727) and Sarah Lovlis in Montgomery Co., MD in the 1776 census. Hope this helps.... 2. My list for Rutherford County is long -- and I would love to find more researchers. Researching -- Allen's, Baldridge, Bridges, Childers, Dyer's, Gibbs, Griffin's, Hamrick's, Harrill's, McBrayer's, Sparks, Splawn's, Waldrop's. Most of these had their roots firmly planted in Rutherford County. I have started groups for Childers, Dyer's, Gibbs's, McBrayer's and Splawns if anyone is interested.
