A.L. (Amos Luther) COBURN of NC. He was a pastor in the ME Church. Credited with being the founder of the Church in Salisbury, NC that bears his name. Also served as pastor at the Dillsworth Church in Charlotte, NC. He married twice. First to Mary BROWN, d/o Rev. David BROWN, a Methodist minister, and, second to Mary THOMPSON LUNDY, d/o Thomas Locke THOMPSON A.L. was the son of James COBURN (b. Abt 1814, NC) had his wife, Nancy RAYMER/RIMER, (b. Abt 1824,NC) who marr 04 Feb 1841, in Rowan Co. This James COBURN is probably the man who served as a private in Company G, 42nd Infantry Regiment North Carolina. In the 1860 census, James, Nancy and son were recorded in that portion of Rowan Co. "North of The NC RR". His enlistment and discharge in 1862 is the last record I have of James. I have found Nancy (nee RAYMER/RIMER) COBURN in the 1870 census of Atwell, Rowan Co. I can not find her after that. Believe that James and Nancy had at least one more child - a daughter. Seeking all possible info on all persons mentioned. Particularly interested in other children of James and Nancy as well as ancestors of Nancy.
