Woods; 5 Dec 1838; bondsman Oliver C. Woods; witness John Giles. I note that John Giles is on 1790 census, witnessed many marriages, and his obit on NCgenweb for Rowan Co says he is an atty (Esq) and died 1846. I am interested in the Oliver C. WOODS who was bondsman. What was his relationship? I am researching an Oliver C. WOODS b abt 1811-1813 NC who was in Attala Co MS by 1843. I find 1860 Rowan Co NC census hh# 1154/1144 Deep Well has Richard Davis age 46 and wife Elizabeth D. age 49, via Heritage Quest but have not checked 1850 yet since I do not have access to images at home. I note their immediate neighbor is J.B. WOODS age 36 b NC & family, and in the vicinity (#1163/1151) is R.L. WOODS age 37 & family. I'd appreciate ANY information on these people----I am desperate to rule in or rule out who this Oliver C. WOODS is and if he is my Mississippi man. Thanks.
