Obituary in Salisbury, NC paper 6-22-1968 Mrs. Eliza Shoaf Baity, 99 of 117 East Harrison Street, Salisbury, died Friday night at 9:45 at Rowan Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for several years but was seriously ill for two weeks. A native of Yadkin County, she was born March 12, 1880, daughter of the late J. Frank and Louisa Shoaf. She was educated in Courtney School in Yadkin County. She was a member of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church. Her husband, John Lewis Baity, died November 19, 1960. Survivors include four sons, Marvin D. Baity of Kannapolis, Dallas R. Baity of Brooksville, FL, George E. Baity of Mountain Home, TN and Odell Baity of Daytona Beach, FL; one daughter, Mrs. J. Leo Stiller of Rt. 2, Salisbury; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at Summersett Memorial Chapel and at 3 p.m. at Courtney Baptist Church in Yadkin County. The Rev. Hayden M. Cartner, pastor of Stallings Memorial Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Courtney Baptist Church Cemetery in Yadkin Count. The body will remain at the Summersett Funeral Home until the funeral hour. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Leo Stiller on the Charlotte Highway and at the funeral home Sunday night from 7 until 9. Now if someone can help me find out exactly who her father is-his name listed in obituary is J. Frank Shoaf and mother listed only as Louisa. I did find this family in Yadkin Co., NC in the 1920 census. It shows Frank's age making him being born about 1847 in NC and wife's age states she was born around 1840.
