I've since looked up the newspaper article that has dates. It says that Ellison Williams was brought to Kentucky by his father in 1775. That is when Boone felled trees for the Wilderness Road. It says that he hunted with Daniel Boone so that's how I make the connection to Boone. There is an Edward Williams in the Yadkin Valley close to Squire Boone's land. I don't know how to get any info to see if he sold his land and went with Boone. It's such a common name that it's really hard, as you may imagine.
