There were not marriage for samuel in Rowan County, Davidson county, or in the Index of North Carolina marriage bonds up to 1867. I checked the stout info for Ancestry.com, which you probably already have done, but none of the entries give a marriage bond for Samuel and His first wife. Most of the references were made to the records of a Bill Stout on RootsWeb. Sorry I could not be of more help. Good Luck.
