Some of my family did come west by way of Indiana, but don't know any of those names. The one I am looking for, Michael Swaim, was from Rowan Co.N.C. and his son Herod Blake Swaim was my gr grandfather. Michael's first wife Anna Rosina Lanius died in 1817. He remarried sometime soon after as Blake was born in 1822, but I do not have any record of his mother's name, her parents, where she was from or anything. I am trying to find out some information about her to complete my family tree. I had heard her name was Mary Lane, but can't find any documentation. Also I had been told her name was Miriam Herod, but there again no documentation. I haven't even been able to find either name so don't know where Michael went after Anna's death. I don't have any record where he died either, but do know Blake came to Iowa and is buried near my childhood home Thanks for the reply and if I come across those names I will write you .
