These records are a copy of the actual roster, which is on a piece of legal sized paper with many names and will list the county or military district. Many times I have found future -in -laws and relatives on these lists with the primary person I was researching. The service is worth the $20.00 price (out of state). You can also do a RECORD REQUEST from the DAR or SAR for the name of your ancestor. The fee is $5.00 and will be a copy of an application to the ancestor. Go to www.SAR.org or www.DAR.org, there are instructions and forms, addresses, etc to request a RECORD copy. The advantage of this, is the listing of the names of all of the generations on the application, some of whom might be related to you.
