I am researching the Steele family in Owen CO Indiana during the early 1800's. The following are listed in the 1830 Owen CO Indiana Census: James Steel John Steel John Rankin Steel Nemien Steel Robert Steel Samuel Steel There is also a Jesse Steel in the Tax records. I believe that the individuals listed above may be related to each other. When I came upon this thread, I had to respond. & NOTE:My Steele family indicates a NC connection in the 1880 census under birth location of parents. All leads appreciated. Thank you, Debra
