In 1841 my DAVID L. POOL sold to his brother JOSEPH POOL all or part of his portion of the estate of JOHN POOL(their father who died in 1832 and their mother Elizabeth Pool who died in 1839). Then in 1849 the above JOSEPH POOL died, and his widow Mary Jane Pool (nee Hardie, father John H.) received land from the estate of her deceased husband as below. Does anyone know where the below tracts are located in Rowan Co. NC? I believe they are near the Town Rd. into Salisbury in the vicinity of the Granite Quarry (land previously owned by Michael Braun/Brown and others). 07 May 1856, Book 39, Page 244, E.L. Austin, Administrator of the estate of Joseph Poole, deceased to M. Jane Poole, 300 acres joining Matthias Boger, Misenheimer, and others and known as the Poole Tract. 07 May 1851, Book 40, Page 217, E. D. Austin, administrator of the estate of Joseph Poole, deceased, to Mary VanPoole, 300 acres joining the lands of Nathan Boger, H. L. Roberts and Misenheimer. (I think this VanPoole name should probably be Pool) 06 Jun 1850, Book 40, Page 464, E. D. Austin to Mary Jane Poole, 201 acres, Ad'm of estate of Joseph Poole. On waters of Crane Creek on lines of H. L. Hobard, William K. Horah, and Jack Horah. The location of the land is important to know whether the patriarch John Pool was a Pool or a Van Pool. The Van Pools were generally located along Dutch 2nd Creek. I am hoping researchers of these other surnames might know where the land of the deceased Joseph Pool was located since their land is adjoining: Matthias Boger, Nathan Boger, Misenheimer, H. L. Roberts, H. L. Hobard, Wm. K. Hurah Jack Horah. Thanks, Betty Pace
